MACHINE VISIONS (90’)

In partnership with the Fonds municipal d’art contemporain – Genève

Structural cinema, optical printers, variable clocks-based sound generator, “slit-scan” system, analog computer, audio-visual synaesthesia, video synthesizers, robotic cameras, image processors: these many inventions existing thanks to artists, explorers and handymen such as Steina & Woody Vasulka, Peter Kubelka, the Whitney brothers, helped pave an unprecedented path in the history of visual arts, the evolution of video art and digital technologies. In short, an odyssey through some origins of the Mapping!
